Project Manager
EMID is recruiting for a contract Project Manager who will, under the direction of the Board of Directors, plan, organize, and manage infrastructure improvement projects within the district. The Project Manager will oversee project execution from initiation through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable regulations. This position provides regular progress reports to the Board and coordinates with contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and district staff to achieve project objectives.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing project schedules and budgets, ensuring vendor compliance with agreements and specifications, obtaining necessary permits and approvals, and maintaining cooperative working relationships with various stakeholder groups and public agencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (include but are not limited to the following)
- Plans, organizes and manages infrastructure improvement projects in accordance with Board-approved project plans, budgets, and timelines; oversees project activities from initiation through closeout; coordinates with contractors, consultants, engineers, and regulatory agencies.
- Develops detailed project schedules, work plans, and procurement strategies; monitors project progress against milestones; identifies and resolves potential delays or conflicts; implements corrective actions as needed.
- Ensures vendor compliance with agreements, specifications, and applicable regulations and reviews submittals and deliverables.
- Prepares and presents regular progress reports to the Board of Directors; provides updates on schedule, budget, risks, and issues; makes recommendations for Board consideration and approval.
- Obtains necessary permits, approvals, and regulatory clearances from federal, state, and local agencies; ensures project compliance with environmental, safety, and building code requirements.
- Maintains comprehensive project documentation including contracts, correspondence, progress reports, and change orders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for a Project Manager. For example, professional experience in construction project management, infrastructure development, or public works, including supervisory responsibilities, and a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, public administration, or a related field.
Must possess strong knowledge of project management principles and practices. Professional certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) is highly desirable.
Must be able to operate standard office equipment including a computer and variety of word processing and software applications, including project management software such as Microsoft Project® or similar platforms.
COMPENSATION:
This position is contract, part-time with flexible hours. Job duties will require approximately 10-15 hours per week, not to exceed 20 hours per week. Salary range $45-$50 per hour DOE/DOQ.
